Bugs Killed
Problems I have seen killed on Windows and Mac, with the steps that killed them.

Chrome extension install blocked by admin policy
Chrome would not let the user add an extension they had used before because an admin policy was blocking it. The technician made an exception to the policy so the extension could be installed again.

An old email file would open as squares instead of readable content. The technician determined the file was saved with the wrong extension and fixed it by changing the email file from .DOC to .MSG so it could open in Outlook.

Mapped network drives were unavailable because the file server was unresponsive. After the server was restarted, access to F and G was restored.

The virtual desktop connection was pausing and preventing sign-in. Another version of the Azure Virtual Desktop preview application was installed, and the user was then able to log back in and load applications.

A Windows laptop was reported to stop waking after about an hour idle. The technician said it appeared to be entering hibernate instead of normal sleep and changed power settings to disable that behavior.

The PC was reported as not powering on, with the power button flashing white. After basic power checks, the RAM and M.2 drive were reseated and the machine was resolved.

Messages from one sender were being moved to the Junk folder by mail junk settings. The blocked sender entry was removed, the sender was added to Safe Senders, and messages already in Junk were marked Not Junk and returned to the Inbox.

The drive kept running nearly full and the computer was starting to lock up. The technician cleared Dell SupportAssist snapshots/backups and reset the Windows Search index, which freed about 52 GB.

The machine would go idle/screensaver and then not wake with the mouse or keyboard, requiring a forced power-off and restart. The technician changed the idle display behavior, installed pending Windows updates including Intel graphics driver updates, and restarted the machine.

The old Remote Desktop Connection shortcut no longer worked. The technician pinned the new version to the taskbar, and the user was then able to connect to the virtual desktop.

The print spooler was erroring and the printer list was not available when trying to print. Windows and firmware updates were installed, the print spooler was restarted, and printing worked again after reboot.

The workstation could not use the Epson scanner, and the ID machine app would not open for the user. The technician reconnected the machine to the Epson scanner and the Brother printer, then confirmed that ID and document scanning worked.

A SharePoint library would not sync to OneDrive. The conflicting SharePoint library shortcut was removed from OneDrive, then the library synced successfully and its contents were confirmed in File Explorer.

The computer was running slowly while it was being charged through a docking station. The technician plugged the charger directly into the computer, after which it was working faster, and the user was told to monitor it.

The computer was bouncing around on screen and clicking an email would open it instead of deleting it. Removing the mouse dongle/receiver stopped the behavior and the computer worked normally afterward.

Remote Desktop and Azure Virtual Desktop sign-in was failing because the MFA authentication link was broken. Resetting MFA and linking Microsoft Authenticator again restored access.

Applications inside the virtual desktop were slow to respond and sometimes got stuck. The backend session was restarted to refresh it, and the user was then able to log back in and use the desktop normally.

The default printer was set to print double-sided when single-sided printing was needed. The technician found the correct M611 printer connection in Windows Devices, cleared the local printer setting that was overriding the option, and confirmed the fix with successful test prints.

Printers were producing jumbled text and one printer was not honoring settings such as one-sided printing after the computer was upgraded to Windows 11. The technician reinstalled both printer drivers with the correct drivers and then tested printing successfully.
