Windows
Temporary Windows profile loaded instead of the normal user profile
The computer signed in to a temporary profile, which made the taskbar and other programs stop working. The technician removed the temporary profile so the correct profile could be used again.
Killed once by someone from XL.net, on 2025-12-20.
What you see
- Desktop opens to a profile that is not the user's normal one
- Taskbar and other programs do not work
- Internet connection search tab will not open
- Microsoft Office connection is gone
Why it happens
Likely The computer was creating a temporary profile instead of loading the normal profile.
When it shows up
A Windows sign-in loads a temporary profile and the normal desktop items, taskbar, or apps do not work as expected.
You are in this case if:
- The system opens with a profile that is not the user's normal profile
- Taskbar and applications are unavailable or not responding after sign-in
