Windows
Permission error when saving emails from a folder
Saving some emails failed with a permission error. The technician found the issue was missing access to the folder the emails were pulled from, added the user to that folder, and confirmed the permission errors stopped.

Affects
Versions
- Windows
Apps
- Outlook
- GS app
What you see
- Intermittent permission errors when trying to save emails
- The problem did not reproduce the same way in a simple Outlook test email
Why it happens
Likely Missing permissions on the folder the emails were pulled from
When it shows up
A user can save some emails but gets a permission error only for messages tied to one source folder or workflow
You are in this case if:
- Saving the affected email returns a permission error
- Outlook can work normally for a test email while the problem still appears for emails from the source folder
- The user is not a member of the folder's access list
