Bugs Killed
Problems I have seen killed on Windows and Mac, with the steps that killed them.

Plant 3D 2025 and CloudWorx missing on workstation
Plant 3D 2025 and CloudWorx were reinstalled on the workstation after prior drive/program issues, then verified by opening the requested files in AutoCAD through CloudWorx.

Scan-to-email stopped after the OAuth token connection dropped
The Canon iR-ADV 6555 scanner would no longer scan. The OAuth token connection was re-established and scan-to-email should now work normally.

Sound output could not be turned on. The audio driver was reinstalled and the machine restart completed a firmware update, which resolved the issue.

The laptop was frozen and only one screen was showing. The technician removed attached peripherals, hard rebooted the laptop, restarted it, then reconnected the docking station and confirmed the displays returned to normal.

Envelope addresses print in the wrong position
The printer was using the wrong envelope size in printer preferences, which caused the return and sender addresses to land in the wrong places. The envelope size was changed to COM10 and a printed envelope was checked to confirm the addresses were aligned correctly.

The extra monitor was not working properly when used from home. The issue was resolved by adjusting Windows display settings.

A redirect was sending the domain to a corporate page that no longer existed, which caused a 404. The redirect rule was updated to point to the homepage and then tested over HTTP and HTTPS.

Website calendar links blocked by firewall
Calendar links on the website would not open because the site's CDN domain was blocked in Firewall. Unblocking that domain restored the content.

Bluetooth was disconnecting more often. The technician updated the machine's hardware drivers and the Bluetooth warning log was gone afterward.

A USB headset with built-in microphone was not recognized correctly, and audio could not be heard or spoken through the headset. The technician disabled the other microphones and speakers on the system, then verified the USB headset worked normally.

A PDF was reported as corrupted, deleted, and then replaced with a newer copy that was missing work. The technician restored the available same-day backup versions into a newly created backup folder so the earlier content could be recovered.

Printing failed even after the printer was powered off and back on, and a test page would print but normal documents would not. The printer was rebooted twice and switched from the guest wireless network to the normal network; after that, black-and-white and color printing worked.

The machine was almost out of storage. Temporary files, Windows Update leftovers, and cached bloatware data were cleaned up, which freed about 31 GB.

A new user could not log into apps such as Outlook and Paylocity. The technician reset the password and MFA, and access worked afterward.

A browser-generated warning/notification was appearing on the machine. The technician removed the notification, scanned the computer, confirmed it was clean, and cleared browser history so it would not return.

BitLocker was blocked by a conflicting startup authentication policy
BitLocker was not resuming because a Group Policy required a USB drive at startup. The authentication policy was adjusted, BitLocker resumed normally, the recovery key was saved to Entra ID, and a test file save did not trigger another BitLocker prompt.

The website was not loading normally because it was in a 'Personalized View' state. Closing that view restored normal website functionality.

SNet hold audio was one-way during calls
When a call was put on hold, the local user could no longer hear the other party, but the other party could still hear the local user. The technician corrected the audio routing by setting the headset as the default audio device in SNet and switching the app to softphone mode, then verified the issue was gone.

Claude Desktop needed a per-user install after an admin install
Claude Desktop was first installed with admin access, but it is a per-user installer so it also had to be installed in the user's own account. After the reinstall, the user signed in and confirmed the app worked.

Laptop showed very low battery, then black screen and no charging lights
The laptop first showed a very low battery warning, then went to a black screen and appeared dead while plugged into its charger. The technician connected it to a different power adapter, got it through BitLocker recovery, and installed Docker updates; the charging function issue was marked fixed.

A DWG model disappeared from a shared project folder and could no longer be found with normal search. The technician found it in the network drive recycle bin and restored it to a working location.

A specific workspace would not load in Chrome while other workspaces did. Relaunching Chrome cleared the issue.

A docked laptop was adding extra keyboard and mouse inputs, including numbers changing and windows switching on their own. The technician found nothing suspicious, cleaned up startup items, installed pending system/driver/firmware updates, ran Disk Cleanup, and the issue had not returned at follow-up.

External monitors were not being recognized when connected through the dock. The technician suspected a bad HDMI port on the docking station, moved one monitor to a direct laptop connection, extended the display settings, and restarted the laptop to correct the resolution on one monitor.

BitLocker protection kept turning off after a pending BIOS update was paused
BitLocker protection kept dropping off on the laptop because SupportAssist kept retrying a BIOS update that needed a full restart. The fix was to turn BitLocker back on, back up the recovery keys, and change the power setting so shutdown triggers a true restart cycle before the machine is restarted.

Xerox C325 scan-to-email needed corrected settings and OAuth 2.0
The printers could not complete scan-to-email setup at first and an error was seen during testing. The scan-to-email settings were corrected, OAuth 2.0 was used, and tests then worked on both printers.

The label printer showed Offline in Printer Settings and test labels/jobs were not coming out. After the printer finished booting and came back online, the queued labels and a test label printed successfully.

The user could not turn on the laptop microphone and camera in Teams when using Teams in Chrome. The technician connected and enabled the microphone and camera permissions in Chrome so Teams web could access them.

The computer was glitching enough that the user had to restart it multiple times. The technician disabled some startup programs to reduce background resource use and asked the user to monitor for recurrence.

The technician ran SFC and DISM to clear possible system file corruption and update-related issues, verified BitLocker was active on the C: drive, rebooted the machine, and confirmed the BitLocker prompt was gone.
