Bugs Killed
Problems I have seen killed on Windows and Mac, with the steps that killed them.

Restore a user file from backup when an older version is needed
A file needed to be recovered from backup. The technician restored it from the 6/29 8AM restore point and the user confirmed it was the correct version, then the current file was replaced with the restored copy.

VPN MFA would not complete until NetExtender was replaced and MFA was rebound
The user could not finish VPN MFA setup on the regular account because the existing VPN client setup was tied to an older account. The technician removed the old NetExtender install, installed the new version, and verified a successful VPN sign-in after MFA was bound to the correct account.

The computer was going to sleep every 2-3 minutes. The technician adjusted the screen timeout settings and turned off hibernate mode.

Word was freezing whenever documents were saved as PDF, and an error was shown. The issue was fixed by reenabling the PDFMaker add-in.

HP LaserJet Pro M402-M403 showed offline after being unplugged from its docking-station connection
The printer was reported offline after it became unplugged from the docking station. It was reconnected, came back online and available, printed test pages successfully, and was set as the default printer.

Intermittent physical keyboard keys not working in some applications
Spacebar, backspace, and other physical keyboard keys were failing intermittently in some applications while On-Screen Keyboard still worked. The technician installed a pending BIOS update and reset the keyboard drivers to default, then confirmed the keys worked normally in apps.

A Windows PC was showing the message "There isn't enough memory for the page" and closing applications, including Excel. The technician reset the PC with the standard setup, restored user data and sign-ins, and left the machine to be watched for any return of the issue before a later Windows 11 upgrade.

The contact list in Outlook was corrected by removing the old contact list and moving the updated list into Outlook's default Contacts list. After Outlook finished syncing, the updated contacts were available on the phone.

The laptop would not power on. The issue was fixed by draining static power with a reset through the pinhole underneath the machine.

The computer had random spikes of severe responsiveness delays. The technician reviewed recent logs, could not reproduce the slowdown, installed pending updates, and ran a system file scan that repaired corrupted system files.

A new-user VPN setup could not get past the MFA setup step because the page at port 8443 would not load. The technician installed the latest NetExtender and then confirmed the QR code appeared when the user logged in.

The laptop was not detecting the external monitor. The defective cable between the monitor and the docking station was replaced, and the issue was resolved.

The PC was slow to wake and let the user sign back in after a long sleep. A repair scan was run and it found corrupted files, which was expected to improve the wake/sign-in behavior.

The user could get into email but was blocked from accessing the Microsoft 365 account because a geofencing/conditional access rule was still applied. The account was added to the exclusion list after the Microsoft Entra ID P1 license was reactivated so the policy could be edited.

Copying to the S: drive failed until the file server was rebooted
Copying a file from the local Downloads folder to the S: drive was failing with an error. The file server hosting that share was rebooted, remote access was restored, and available memory resources were verified before the user was asked to retry the copy.

The built-in laptop camera could not be accessed because the physical camera shutter was covering it. Moving the shutter to uncover the camera resolved the issue.

The computer's camera was not working for several days. The technician repaired and updated the camera driver, then reinstalled the driver and rebooted the computer; the camera was confirmed working again.

Egnyte desktop app was installed and running, but it was not signed in with the account needed to connect the Z: drive. The password was reset and the desktop app was signed in, which restored the drive in File Explorer.

The laptop was not detecting the Thunderbolt dock, so the two external monitors showed nothing. Restoring power to the dock brought both monitors back.

The new workstation was initially reachable on the network, but Remote Desktop was not listening on port 3389. After checking the firewall profile and Remote Desktop settings, the listener was restored and remote sign-in was confirmed working.

The laptop was stuck loading before the sign-in screen after a reboot. The dock was unplugged, Windows and firmware updates were installed on the laptop and docking station, and then the machine restarted and allowed sign-in normally.

Saving or processing new transactions in M2M failed with an error dialog offering Quit or Ignore. The M2M services were restarted on the server, and the issue was later confirmed resolved.

Laptop freezes and locks up; Windows and Office repair applied
A Windows laptop was freezing and locking up enough to require a hard shutdown and restart. The technician applied pending Windows updates, ran operating system scans, and repaired Office 365 after one crash appeared to involve Outlook, then left the machine in normal-use testing.
