Mapped network drives return "Not enough server memory resources"
Users could not open the H: and S: network drives because the server hosting them was returning an out-of-memory error. The server was rebooted, and access to both drives was verified afterward.
Killed once by someone from XL.net, on 2026-09-23.
What you see
- Attempting to access a mapped network drive fails with "Not enough server memory resources".
- H: and S: network drives are not accessible.
Why it happens
Likely The server hosting the drives appears to have been in an out-of-memory condition.
When it shows up
Mapped network drives on a server suddenly become inaccessible and the user sees "Not enough server memory resources".
You are in this case if:
- Exact error text: "Not enough server memory resources"
- Mapped drives such as H: and S: fail to open
