VPN MFA setup failed until NetExtender was updated

A new-user VPN setup could not get past the MFA setup step because the page at port 8443 would not load. The technician installed the latest NetExtender and then confirmed the QR code appeared when the user logged in.

Killed once by someone from XL.net, on 2026-06-22.

  • The QR code does not appear during the VPN setup flow

Why it happens

Suspected Suspected outdated NetExtender on the user's computer, because the latest NetExtender was installed and the QR code then appeared.

When it shows up

A user is being set up for VPN and the MFA page at port 8443 does not load or does not show the QR code
