Windows
Shared mailbox message times were shown in the wrong time zone
Message timestamps in the shared mailbox were offset by several hours. The mailbox time zone was updated to Central Time, which corrected the received-time display.
Killed once by someone from XL.net, on 2025-09-22.
What you see
- A message sent at 11:23 am CT showed as received at 4:23 pm.
- Received times in the shared mailbox were not matching Central Time.
Why it happens
Likely The shared mailbox time zone was set incorrectly.
When it shows up
A shared mailbox shows email received times shifted by a fixed number of hours instead of matching the expected local time zone.
You are in this case if:
- The mailbox time zone setting is not set to Central Time.
- Recent messages show a consistent time offset, such as 11:23 am appearing as 4:23 pm.
