RemotePC reconnect closed open apps after host lock
On a Windows machine accessed through RemotePC, the open apps were closing when the host locked and the session was reconnected. The technician changed the power settings so the machine never automatically sleeps and set the RemotePC host to follow the machine's power settings.

Affects
Versions
- Windows
Apps
- RemotePC
What you see
- Open apps close after reconnecting to the remote computer
- The user has to start over after the host locks or is reconnected
Why it happens
Likely Likely the host's idle sleep/power settings and RemotePC host power behavior were allowing the session to drop in a way that closed the open apps.
When it shows up
A RemotePC user reconnects to a Windows host after it has locked or been idle.
You are in this case if:
- Windows power setting is set to never automatically sleep after an idle period
- RemotePC host setting is set to follow the machine's power settings
