Print queue job would not cancel on Windows
A print job was stuck in the queue and would not cancel. The queue was cleared.
Killed once by someone from XL.net, on 2026-08-19.
Affects
Versions
- Windows
Hardware
- MFP M776 printer
What you see
- A print job remains in the printer queue after Cancel is used.
- The old job blocks new printing from the same queue.
Why it happens
Suspected A stale print job was stuck in the printer queue; the ticket did not record why it would not cancel.
When it shows up
A Windows print queue still shows an old job that will not cancel.
You are in this case if:
- The printer queue keeps the same job after Cancel is selected.
- The queue remains non-empty even after attempting to remove the stuck item.
