Windows
Out of disk space when saving or downloading files
The workstation could not save the needed files because the local disk was nearly full. After cleanup, an unused local user profile was removed and about 30 GB of space was freed, which resolved the issue.

Versions
- Windows
What you see
- Saving or downloading files fails with an out of storage space message.
- The main disk has very little free space available.
Why it happens
Likely An unused local user profile was consuming about 30 GB of disk space and leaving the machine short on free space.
When it shows up
A Windows workstation is failing file downloads or saves because local storage is nearly full.
You are in this case if:
- The main local disk shows very low free space.
- A local user profile is large enough that removing it would reclaim tens of gigabytes.
