Windows 11 emergency update KB5129195 fixes Remote Desktop, Plan9 shares and multichannel USB audio. Code 10 audio failures and AMD black screens stay open.
macOS 27 Golden Gate hides working bootable backups from Startup Disk (September 14, 2026)
macOS 27 Golden Gate shipped today, and a correctly made bootable backup no longer appears in Startup Disk or the startup picker. The copy still boots.

The Mac login keychain lock-in is pinned to macOS Tahoe 26.4 (September 13, 2026)
Testing dates the Mac login keychain copy failure to macOS Tahoe 26.4: 26.3 worked, 26.4 did not. Apple has still said nothing, and no fix has shipped.
KB5124008 kills sound on USB Audio Class 1.0 devices on Windows 11 (September 13, 2026)
Microsoft confirmed KB5124008 stops USB Audio Class 1.0 devices working on Windows 11. Code 10 in Device Manager, no fix yet, and 2-channel mode helps some.
Font Book crashes on resize in the macOS 27 Golden Gate RC 26A428 (September 12, 2026)
Resizing Font Book's Sidebar or Inspector crashes the app on the macOS 27 Golden Gate release candidate. A defaults command clears the stuck state.
KB5124008 leaves Windows 11 at a black screen when Explorer.exe fails (September 12, 2026)
Windows 11 PCs sign in to a black screen after KB5124008 because Explorer.exe crashes. Virtual desktops with container profiles are hit hardest. No fix yet.
Press-and-drag selection breaks in the macOS 27 Golden Gate RC 26A428 (September 11, 2026)
On the macOS 27 Golden Gate release candidate, dragging to select rows in NSTableView and in Finder list view stops working. Unfixed, and not a known issue.
KB5124008 leaves Remote Desktop Services hanging on Windows 11 (September 11, 2026)
Microsoft confirmed KB5124008 destabilizes Remote Desktop Services. The status is Mitigated, the fix is a future update, and the workaround kills sessions.
macOS Tahoe 26.4 locked the login keychain to one Mac's Secure Enclave (September 10, 2026)
A login keychain copied off one Mac will not open on another since macOS Tahoe 26.4, even with the right password. Apple has not acknowledged it.
KB5124010 fixes a 0x139 Bluetooth audio crash on Windows 11, in preview (September 10, 2026)
Windows 11 preview update KB5124010 fixes a 0x139 crash while streaming Bluetooth audio and several other Bluetooth defects. None of it is on regular PCs yet.

Apple's macOS 27 Golden Gate release candidate, build 26A428, fixes beta Macs with large amounts of RAM wrongly reporting filesystem corruption in First Aid.
KB5124008 breaks certificate-based Always On VPN on Windows 11 (September 9, 2026)
Certificate-based Always On VPN tunnels stopped connecting after Windows 11 update KB5124008 and returned when it was removed. No Microsoft known issue yet.
A white bar covers window content in macOS 27 Golden Gate beta 5 (September 8, 2026)
In the macOS 27 Golden Gate developer betas, a toolbar with NSTrackingSeparatorToolbarItem paints a white bar over window content. No fix published.
KB5124008 stops File History seeing backup drives on Windows 11 (September 8, 2026)
File History stopped recognizing external drives after Windows 11 update KB5124008. Microsoft has not acknowledged it, and only removing the update helped.
macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 stops writing files below 1 GB free, silently (September 7, 2026)
On macOS Tahoe 26.6.2, a boot volume under about 1 GB free fails saves, new folders and screenshots with no error you can act on. No fix.
KB5120708 still breaks WPF printing and PDF export on Windows 11 (September 7, 2026)
Four weeks after August's .NET Framework update, WPF printing and PDF export still fail with a FileFormatException. No fix, only a risky switch.
macOS Tahoe Storage settings never finishes calculating System Data (September 6, 2026)
On macOS Tahoe, Storage settings can spin for hours without finishing System Data or Photos, so the one built-in tool for finding lost space never answers.
Ten days on, KB5120998 is still resetting cursors and wallpapers on Windows 11 (September 6, 2026)
Ten days after KB5120998 shipped, Windows 11 users are still first hitting the cursor and wallpaper reset. Uninstalling is the only remedy, and no fix yet.
Finder's size on disk ignores APFS clones, off by 10.48 GB on macOS Tahoe (September 5, 2026)
The Finder's Get Info size on disk takes no account of APFS clone files, understating real usage by 10.48 GB in a macOS Tahoe test. Disk Utility is right.
A weekend with no fix for the KB5120998 black desktop on Windows 11 (September 5, 2026)
No new Windows 11 bug surfaced on September 5, 2026. The KB5120998 black desktop and cursor reset stayed open, with no fix and no published workaround.
TestFlight 4.3.1 restores recent-first beta sorting on the Mac (September 4, 2026)
TestFlight 4.3.1 shipped on September 4, 2026, undoing the alphabetical beta list introduced in 4.3 in July. No macOS release shipped in that window.
